TIES EditorialGeotechnical Site Investigation is a fundamental component of any engineering project, providing critical understanding of subsurface conditions and soil behaviour. This information is essential for designing safe, stable, and cost-effective structures.
Tanzania Integrated Engineering Solution Company Limited (TIES) is pleased to announce that we are currently conducting a Geotechnical Site Investigation at the JEMA Africa Limited CIP Project located in Pemba, Mvomero - Morogoro.
Our scope of work is focused on delivering reliable geotechnical data to support:
• TSF design
• CIP plant machine foundation design
Why this study is important:
• For Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) Design:
Geotechnical investigations help assess soil strength, permeability, and consolidation characteristics, which are crucial for ensuring slope stability, seepage control, and long-term structural integrity of the TSF. This minimizes environmental risks and supports sustainable mine waste management.
• For CIP Plant Machine Foundations:
Understanding bearing capacity, settlement behaviour, and soil stiffness is essential for designing foundations that can safely support heavy equipment, prevent excessive settlement, and avoid structural failures during operation.
Through this work, TIES is committed to ensuring that all designs are grounded on accurate site-specific data, enhancing safety, performance, and durability.
TIES welcomes collaboration with mining companies, developers, and project stakeholders who require geotechnical investigation and engineering consultancy services.
